Port Douglas River, Estuary and Coastal Fishing
This is a coastal, calm water experience in boats up to 8m designed for sportfishing on our local inlets, creeks, rivers and inshore reefs.
Half day and full day trips are offered and night trips available on request.
On the protected waters of the mangrove systems our guides often catch live bait and target species such as barramundi, queenfish, mangrove jack & trevally in the rivers & creeks. Specialised lure & fly trips are available by private charter. Sole charter trips can also include requested croc spotting, mud crabbing, bird watching and photography.
Coastal trips, weather providing can take you to our very productive inshore reefs, wrecks and very unique wonky holes (complex underwater rainforest river systems that release its water along the coast from the Daintree World Heritage Rainforest). Here you tangle with some bigger species including thumping nannygai, mackerel, coral trout, gold spot cod, cobia, trevally species and fingermark. Popper, jigging & soft plastic fishing available on private charters.

If you are the type of angler who likes to do your own thing, then this option is maybe what you are looking for. Self-drive pontoon vessels are available for hire at very reasonable rates. No license is required and is a great alternative for groups or families to go fishing or simply cruise at your own leisure. Rod and tackle hire is also available.
