The Sheriff
Experience the best of Far North Queensland with the expert captain and crew of the Sheriff, a 40ft game boat dedicated to providing an unforgettable fishing adventure. Led by award-winning captain Corey Hard, our team combines years of local knowledge with a passion for ensuring every guest has a successful and exciting trip.
This vessel has one of the most experienced Game fishing crews and are recognised worldwide for its achievements in the game fishing industry. It has a reputation as one of the best fishing charters in the Port Douglas & Cairns region.
The Sheriff is equipped with state-of-the-art electronics and top-of-the-line Shimano tackle, cruising at 20 knots to reach the Great Barrier Reef’s premier fishing spots. We offer a variety of experiences, including:
- Heavy & Light Tackle Game Fishing: Target Black and Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Dolphin Fish and Wahoo.
- Popper Fishing: Target Giant Trevally, Coral Trout and Red Bass
- Reef Fishing: Catch Coral Trout, Red Emperor, and Large Mouth Nannygai.
- Snorkeling: Available upon request.
Our charter is 100% locally operated and available year-round (heavy tackle season runs from September to December). We provide all quality meals, accommodation, soft drinks, and fishing gear, with 2-3 experienced crew members on hand to guide you. All legal catches are processed for you to take home, and alcohol is BYO.

Private Charter Only
Extended Heavy tackle fishing (Sept to Dec only)
$4950 per day – Max. 3 pax.
Daily Reef / light tackle fishing (Dec to Sept only)
Port Douglas departure $4000 per day - Max. 6 pax.
Yorkey's Knob departure (50 minutes south of Port Douglas) $3850 per day - Max. 6 pax.
Extended Reef / light tackle fishing (Dec to mid Sept only)
$4500 per day - Max. 3 pax.

Booking and Cancellation Policies
Daily Charters
- Payment: Full payment is required 7 days prior to departure. A credit card is required to secure your booking.
- Cancellations: A 100% cancellation fee applies for any cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled start time.
- Extra Activities: Snorkeling is available upon request only, and all gear is supplied.
Extended Charters
- Payment: A 10% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 30 days prior to departure.
- Cancellations: A 100% cancellation fee applies for any cancellations made within 30 days of the scheduled start time.
- Activities: Snorkeling is available upon request only, and all gear is supplied.
Additional Information
- Weather: All trips are subject to weather conditions. If the vessel cancels due to weather conditions a refund applies.
- Credit Card Surcharge: A 1.6% surcharge applies to all credit card payments.
- Direct Deposit: To avoid the surcharge, you may pay via direct bank transfer. Please request our banking details in advance. Bank transfers must be completed outside of the applicable cancellation window, and a screenshot of the payment confirmation is required to finalise your booking.
